Event Description:
Polar Educators International (PEI) will bring its 6th Biennial conference and workshop to the Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW2025) and the International Conference for Arctic Research Planning (ICARP IV) connecting polar education, research and the global community
The PEI community is a polar bridge, connecting diverse stakeholders within and beyond the polar community, formal and informal educators and artists, early career scientists, and community members.
We welcome polar educators and enthusiastic participants from around the world to collaborate and build innovative, thoughtful ways to amplify polar knowledge. Together we will exchange contemporary education practices and build opportunities for impact to inspire educators and learners of all ages.
This four-day event is an informative, interactive and collaborative workshop where educators, researchers and Arctic Indigenous knowledge holders will share expertise and experience to shape the education vision and focus for the next International Polar Year (IPY2032-33).
Educators will engage in both practice and research, share impactful stories of our rapidly changing planet through labs, hands-on workshops, interdisciplinary and cross-cultural conversations, art exhibits, social activities, poster displays, speed-meets, short talks and field trips and connect with practicing scientists and Indigenous community members.
Participants will come away from this workshop with a deeper understanding of the global relevance of the polar regions and equipped with new strategies and resources for reaching a diverse range of learners.
Join this dynamic polar education network. Let’s BUILD polar bridges, making one connection at a time.
