Room: UMC Second Floor - 247
Organiser: April Melvin (U.S. National Academies Polar Research Board)
Event Description:
The Polar Research Board of the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine regularly holds public meetings that provide an open forum to explore important polar science issues and bring together leading polar scholars and stakeholders with representatives from the many federal agencies that engage in Arctic and Antarctic research and policy. The PRB proposes to hold such a meeting during ASSW that will focus on international engagement, bringing together national/regional polar organizations from around the world. Organizations will provide an overview of their role within their nation/region, priority research areas, and mechanisms for collaboration and coordination. This will include discussion of opportunities for expanded collaboration and coordination associated with the Fifth International Polar Year to be held in 2032-33. Additional polar topics may also be explored during this meeting.
