Session Abstract:
This meeting is devoted to present and discuss the opportunities for coordinated environmental data collection related to the development of the Northern Sea Route infrastructure, and in particular, development of the environmental monitoring framework. The session will include series of talks featuring ongoing efforts and pilot environmental studies of the Northern Sea Route area, as well as existing data collection initiatives with an emphasis on those by the working groups of the Arctic Council. This will be followed by a round-table discussion linked to the main themes of the Arctic Science Summit Week and Arctic Observing Summit – such as data sharing and system integration.
