On behalf of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Hokkaido University (HU), National Institute of Polar Research (NIPR), Japan Consortium Arctic Environment Research (JCAR), Hakodate city and Local Organizing Committee, we are pleased to invite you to the Arctic Science Summit Week 2027 (ASSW2027) in vibrant Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan, for 11–20 April 2027.
Following the ASSW2027 Community Meetings and Workshops the Ninth International Symposium on Arctic Research (ISAR-9) will be held during the latter half of the summit.
ASSW2027 will take place in a hybrid format at the Hakodate Salmon Marunama Hall and Arena located in Hakodate, a city with a bonanza of urban and natural attractions. The ASSWs have been organized annually since 1999 by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) to provide opportunities for coordination, cooperation, and collaboration within Arctic research.We are delighted to host this important annual meeting in Hakodate, Japan, to advance research in the Arctic, bring together scientific knowledge and indigenous wisdom, and discuss pressing Arctic issues and the regional role within global systems.
