The ASSW2024 Organising Committee is pleased to announce the additional funding available to support participation in the Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2024 (21 - 29 March 2024, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) for UK-based early career researchers.
Funding is available to cover the travel costs (train or air tickets, accomodation, per diem expenses) and/or registration fee for attending the ASSW 2024 either on-site or online for:
- UK-based early career researchers up to 5 years past their final degree (e.g. PhD) with an Arctic research focus. Undergraduate and masters students are also eligible for this funding. Applications are particularly welcome from groups traditionally under-represented in Polar Science, including women, people from racial and ethnic minorities in the UK, LGBTQ+ community and people with a disability.
Successful applicants are invited to attend the 'Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Polar Science - sharing best practice' session on 23 March 2024 (10:30 - 12:30 GMT) focused on sharing best practices from UKPN, Diversity in Polar Science Initiative and elsewhere to increase representation from underrepresented groups and inducing culture change across the Polar Science community.
