The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2024 will be organised from 21 - 29 March 2024 in Edinburgh, UK by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and hosted by the University of Edinburgh and the Scottish Arctic Network.

 IASC logo The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) is a non-governmental, international scientific organisation. The Founding Articles committed IASC to pursue a mission of encouraging and facilitating cooperation in all aspects of Arctic research, in all countries engaged in Arctic research and in all areas of the Arctic region. Overall, IASC promotes and supports leading-edge interdisciplinary research in order to foster a greater scientific understanding of the Arctic region and its role in the Earth system.

The University of Edinburgh is a world-leading public research University. The University first opened in 1583 and is an international centre of excellence in research, teaching and innovation. Arctic research at the University is located primarily within the School of GeoSciences and covers the physical and environmental sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Scan The Scottish Arctic Network (ScAN) is an interdisciplinary network of Scotland-based scientists and academics whose expertise and research interests revolve around Arctic matters and Scottish-Arctic collaboration. ScAN currently brings together over a hundred members and its objectives include the improvement of inter-institutional collaboration and communication on Arctic research in Scotland; and facilitating increased international and domestic awareness of Scotland’s contribution to Arctic research. ScAN supports joint funding applications, promoted Arctic-relevant research of its members, holds regular webinars, and supports early career researchers in attending the relevant conferences and more.
