Conversations with the movie creators. Witnessing Frozen Commons in Northern Mongolia follows the research team that arrived at the Khovsgol aimag, the northernmost part of Mongolia. They visit nomadic Dukha reindeer herders and Darkhad cattle herders to learn about frozen commons - landscapes shaped by snow, ice, and permafrost. The film explores the deep interconnections between frozen commons and nomadic livelihoods, offering inspiration to Arctic communities and other decision-makers. It advocates for creating sustainable futures that honor and preserve traditional cultures.
Join us after the viewing for a conversation and question and answer with community residents and individuals connected to the film and storytelling efforts.
