ICARP IV Summit - Opening Ceremony

Session Description:

This opening session will welcome participants to the start of the Fourth International Conference for Arctic Research Planning (ICARP IV) Summit. ICARP IV is a multi-year effort that began in 2022 to engage the international community on critical topics and priorities for Arctic research in the next 10 years that cut across disciplines and knowledge systems, and that require new and innovative thinking and collaboration. The ICARP IV Summit during 25-28 March includes 75 conference sessions that align with the 7 priority areas being explored within the ICARP IV process. The Summit with also host seven Town Halls to discuss and consult on the initial outcomes of the seven ICARP IV Research Priority Teams. This session will provide an overview of the ICARP IV process, the purpose of this Summit, and how the braoder Arctic research community is contributing.

  • Welcome from the Univeristy of Colorado Boulder and the ASSW 2025 Local Organizing Committe
  • Wecome and recognition of the Indigenous Peoples, traditional territories, and ancestral homelands of present-day Colorado
  • Introduction and Update on the ICARP IV Process
  • Introduction of the ASSW 2025 Code of Conduct
